Weezer’s 1994 self-titled debut landed when rock radio was still sorting out what filled the space after the peak grunge years, and their hook-forward, California-inflected guitar pop filled it in ways that proved durable: more than 35 million records sold across three decades, 15 more studio albums, and a sold-out Blue Album anniversary tour that confirmed the catalog still has pull. Album 16 is in progress, and “Weezer: The Gathering,” a 32-city arena run, brings it to Toyota Center in Houston on Friday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. The Shins and Silversun Pickups ride along as special guests for the full tour.
About the Show
The Gathering is built around Weezer’s forthcoming 16th studio album, the band’s first for Reprise/Warner Records. That label move caps a five-year stretch that saw Van Weezer and OK Human arrive together in 2021, followed by SZNZ, a four-part EP series, in 2022, and now the band’s first full-length since. No official title or release date has been announced for the new record, but lead single “Shine Again” arrived April 1, 2026, offering a first preview. A second recent track, “Go Away,” a duet with Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino, is currently charting in the Top 40 globally on streaming. The Shins and Silversun Pickups are aboard as special guests for all 32 dates, running from September 8 in Sacramento through October 24 in Los Angeles, the band’s hometown. The tour follows a sold-out “Return to the Blue Planet” run built on the Blue Album’s 30th anniversary, and before that the stadium-scale “Hella Mega” co-headline with Green Day and Fall Out Boy. Houston on October 16 opens a three-night Texas stretch; Dallas follows October 17, Austin October 18.

Toyota Center, at 1510 Polk St in downtown Houston, holds 18,043 seats. For a band that ran stadium co-headlines with Green Day and Fall Out Boy and sold out arenas on their Blue Album anniversary run, it’s a natural fit. Doors open 90 minutes before the 7:00 p.m. start per venue policy.
