Kevin Parker was recording in his bedroom in Perth, Australia when he started Tame Impala in 2007, playing every instrument himself, producing everything, sending the results out to anyone who would listen. Nineteen years later, he closes the North American leg of The Deadbeat Tour in Houston with two nights at Toyota Center — which is either a straight line or a very long arc, depending on how you read creative history. Parker reads it as a straight line. He still plays everything himself. He still produces everything. He has just gotten considerably better at it.
He plays Toyota Center on Saturday, September 19, 2026 — the first of a two-night Houston stand that wraps the North American run. The tour launched in Miami in early July, worked through the continent’s summer circuit, and arrives here for its Houston finale before Parker carries the campaign to Australia in October. About Tame Impala
Deadbeat — the fifth Tame Impala studio album, released October 17, 2025 on Columbia Records — represents a deliberate turn from the psych-rock architecture Parker spent years perfecting. The new record is built on throbbing bass, shimmering synths, and kinetic percussion, drawing directly from Western Australia’s “bush doof” rave culture. Reviewers have compared it to acts like RÜFÜS DU SOL and described the record as something that functions as much as a DJ set as a rock album. Parker took the sound to where he needed it to go.
Tame Impala’s streaming standard-bearer, “The Less I Know the Better,” has crossed two billion streams globally and continues to pull in new listeners years after its release. The project has earned two Grammy wins from five nominations and placed three singles at the top of US Alternative Radio. Parker has also brought his production sensibility to major collaborations, including work with The Weeknd and Dua Lipa.

Toyota Center sits at 1510 Polk Street in downtown Houston — an 18,043-capacity arena and one of the region’s principal destinations for major touring acts. Doors open at 6:00 PM; the show begins at 7:00 PM. A second night is available September 20, 2026.
