Streetlight Manifesto at Aztec Theatre | November 15, 2026

Streetlight Manifesto took 12 years between studio albums — and then imposed another condition before booking a single date: no touring until the record was done and out. The Place Behind The Stars arrived June 24, 2025, and now the band is making good on the other half. The Presence of the Past Tour runs through December, and the Texas leg closes at the Aztec Theatre in San Antonio on Sunday, November 15. The Bridge City Sinners open.

The tour name lands sideways. The band just put out new material for the first time since The Hands That Thieve in 2013, and named the run after the past. There’s either a joke buried in there or a frank acknowledgment that the catalog — Kalnoky’s horn arrangements, the intricate layering, the full run from Everything Goes Numb forward — is still why most people in the room bought a ticket. Probably both.

About Streetlight Manifesto

Tomas Kalnoky formed Streetlight Manifesto in 2002 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, following his departure from Catch 22, where he’d written the original Keasbey Nights (1998). The band assembled out of the New Jersey ska circuit and debuted with Everything Goes Numb on Victory Records in 2003. What distinguished them from the third-wave pack: the horn arrangements were structural — baked into guitar figures, layered against rhythmic complexity, built to reward multiple listens. The live show matches: technically precise, physically intense, crowd surfing and call-and-response running simultaneously.

The catalog built through Somewhere in Between (2007), 99 Songs of Revolution: Vol. 1 (2010), and The Hands That Thieve (2013), which charted on the Billboard 200. Then the long gap. Work on The Place Behind The Stars began around 2019; the band recorded it themselves and released it through Pentimento Music Co. in 2025 — described as their most ambitious project to date. Thirteen years between albums. The Presence of the Past Tour is the verdict.

The Venue

The Aztec Theatre is at 104 N St. Mary’s St. in downtown San Antonio. The 1,477-capacity theater is the right scale for this tour: not a club, not an arena, a mid-size room that suits Streetlight’s layered sound. San Antonio closes the Texas run — Dallas on November 13, Houston on November 14, then here on the 15th.
