Slayr hits Dallas on Saturday, August 15 for one night at The Echo Lounge & Music Hall — a stop on the Half-Blood Tour, his first-ever headlining run. He’s nineteen years old and he’s already put out seven mixtapes. The momentum is real and it arrived fast.
About slayr
Slayr is from North Philadelphia. His music doesn’t sound like Philly, doesn’t sound like Atlanta — it sounds like the internet, which is where he came up. He makes what The Fader calls “maximalist digicore”: a collision of trap, EDM, and metal production that draws on video game composers (Crush40’s Sonic work, Yoko Shimomura’s Final Fantasy XV soundtrack) as directly as it draws on Pi’erre Bourne and Kanye West. The lyrics are earnest and open-faced, which is unusual for this corner of rap. He doesn’t perform cool; he performs feeling.
Half Blood dropped in November 2025 — his seventh mixtape — and went viral through YouTube reaction videos before landing him a major label deal. The deluxe edition, Bloodluxe, came out in March 2026. The Needle Drop gave it a light 8/10. Pitchfork scored it 6.7, noting “tight song structure, soaring hooks, and expertly rapped verses” while describing the approach as “maximalist, crowd-pleasing rage rap that prioritizes craft over feeling.” That last line reads more like an explanation than a knock.
XXL named slayr to the 2026 Freshman Class on June 24 — the same day he announced this tour. The Fader listed him among the 32 coolest artists of the year. Skrillex has cosigned; electronic producer underscores remixed “Holding,” one of the breakout tracks from Half Blood. If your entry point is the Texas-born artists working where rap meets electronic — Don Toliver and that wing of the scene — slayr is running a similar seam from a different geography.
The Venue
The Echo Lounge & Music Hall sits at 1323 N Stemmons Fwy in Dallas and holds 1,000. It’s an A-list room in the DFW market — the kind of venue that makes sense for a headliner who’s outgrown the small clubs but is booking his first national run. The Echo fits this tour’s scale.
