Sabaton bring the Legends On Tour to San Antonio on Sunday, November 8 — a show that was rescheduled once already and arrives carrying a year’s worth of pent-up anticipation. Doors at 7 PM at Boeing Center at Tech Port, with Pop Evil and Wings of Steel opening.
About Sabaton
Formed in Falun, Sweden in 1999, Sabaton have spent more than two decades building a catalog that reads like a military history syllabus set to double-kick drums and harmonized guitar leads. Their turf is power metal — anthemic, big, historically grounded — and their lyrics cover WWII campaigns, medieval battles, and ancient empires with a specificity that has earned them one of heavy metal’s more devoted international followings.
Legends, their 11th studio album (released October 2025), pushes the timeline further back than any of their recent records. Genghis Khan, Julius Caesar, Joan of Arc, Vlad the Impaler, Napoleon, Hannibal Barca, Miyamoto Musashi — the roster of historical figures across the album’s eleven tracks stretches from ancient Egypt to 19th-century Europe. It’s also the first Sabaton record where every current band member played an active role in songwriting. The Legends On Tour North American leg was originally booked for February through April 2026, but bassist Pär Sundström’s recovery from arm inflammation pushed the run back to September through December. San Antonio gets it November 8.
The Venue
Boeing Center at Tech Port opened in May 2022 on the grounds of Port San Antonio, which occupies the site of the former Kelly Air Force Base. The venue holds 3,100 and was built as a reconfigurable space — concerts, esports tournaments, conferences, robotics competitions. For a band whose entire catalog is about military history, playing on a former Air Force Base carries its own resonance, even if neither the venue nor the band will make a point of it. Net proceeds from events benefit the Kelly Heritage Foundation, which funds STEM and workforce development programs in the area.
