Ryan Castro earned the name El Cantante del Ghetto the old way — singing on buses and street corners in Medellín as a teenager, making whatever money he could to help his family. He has 31 million monthly Spotify listeners now and a Bogotá show on this cycle that sold out in under an hour. The SENDÉ THE LAST DANCE Tour brings him to Boeing Center at Tech Port on September 27, the formal close of the biggest creative run of his career.
About the Show
Castro — born Bryan David Castro Sosa in Bello, Antioquia, raised in Medellín’s Pedregal neighborhood — spent formative years in Curaçao working as a waiter and security guard before his music took hold. The time on the island left a direct mark. His 2025 album SENDÉ fuses reggaeton and Latin hip-hop with dancehall, afrobeat, kizomba, and reggae, built from the Caribbean culture he absorbed in Curaçao. The blend extends further than most reggaeton records reach. SENDÉ itself comes from a Papiamento word meaning “feeling good” or “being lit.” Billboard Latin named it one of the 25 best Latin albums of 2025. A companion album, HOPI SENDÉ, followed later that same year.
Earlier catalog: El Cantante del Ghetto (2024), the name he’d already earned on those Medellín streets, and breakthrough singles going back to “Morena” in 2017. A stadium show in Medellín on this same cycle grossed more than $3.4 million. Before this North American leg, he played Miamibash and the Sueños Music Festival in Chicago. “This tour is a celebration of everything we are and everything we dream of becoming,” Castro said in his announcement. “SENDÉ represents our joy and our struggle.” The San Antonio stop is one of 16 dates on the North American run, stretching September 6 through October 10. Castro has called this the “grand finale of the SENDÉ Tour.” No support acts had been announced at time of publication.
Venue & Logistics
Boeing Center at Tech Port holds 3,100 and hosts the San Antonio date. That’s a considerably more intimate room than what Castro has been filling in South America on this same cycle. Show time is 8:00 p.m.
