RuPaul’s Drag Race Werq the World Tour at 713 Music Hall | February 26, 2027

Ten years in, the Werq the World Tour is still the biggest thing in touring drag, and it has earned that standing by doing something touring spectacles rarely manage: sustaining itself past the cultural flash point that generated it. Television-to-stage productions have a particular mortality rate — they peak in the early seasons of a network run, book one arena tour, and dissolve when the cultural moment passes. Since 2017, Werq the World has visited 95 cities across 28 countries on five continents. The version arriving at 713 Music Hall on Friday, February 26, is marking a decade by doing something considerably more ambitious than a greatest-hits format would allow.

About the Show

The 2027 edition is titled WTWN 10: Werq The World News, and the concept is high-camp by design: the tour reimagines itself as a live primetime broadcast, with Asia O’Hara anchoring in the role of Anchorma’am of Channel 10. Live reports in weather, sports, entertainment, and breaking news — delivered through drag, spectacle, comedy, and performance — replace the traditional concert structure. Presented by Voss Events in collaboration with World of Wonder, the production spans 50 cities across the United States and Canada from February 5 through April 17, 2027.

The Houston date — February 26 — falls within the First Leg of the tour, which runs through March 12. The confirmed cast joining Asia O’Hara at 713 Music Hall includes Vanessa Vanjie, Jewels Sparkles, Morphine Love Dion, Roxxxy Andrews, and Plane Jane, with surprise guests from Season 19 of RuPaul’s Drag Race also on the bill. The lineup is subject to change per the producers.

The newscast conceit rewards some examination. A live anchor desk wrapped around main-stage drag performs a collision the format has always thrived on — the mundane and the spectacular forced into the same room. The breaking-news chyron becomes the costume reveal; the teleprompter becomes patter; the anchor’s measured delivery becomes the setup for the joke. That’s not a new observation about drag, but putting a 5,000-seat production around it — with JumboTron screens and concert-scale sound, which have characterized Werq the World since its early years — is a way of making the argument at volume.
