Robin Williams called Brad Williams “Prozac with a head,” which is one of the better character references in recent comedy history—and if you’ve seen Williams work a large room, a fairly precise description of what a ticket buys you. He brings The Big & Small Tour to 713 Music Hall on Friday, February 12, a title that earns its own pun: his dwarfism is the premise, and the larger-than-life stories he pulls from it are the point.

About the Show

Williams has been building out a catalog since his 2015 Showtime special Fun Size. His two most recent specials are both on YouTube: Starfish, which drew millions of views, and Live On Short Street, his latest. The material pulls from disability, relationships, sex, and race—autobiographical work he’s said he constantly refreshes, driven by his own impatience with repetition. “I don’t want to get bored with the same material,” he told the Houston Press. “I always want to be excited to perform.”

The tour name reflects that same sensibility: his dwarfism the setup, the life it’s shaped the substance. Williams has turned that contrast into one of the more expansive careers in contemporary stand-up. He’s the first stand-up comedian to headline a Cirque du Soleil production, a run at Mad Apple in Las Vegas. His screen work includes The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Netflix’s The Degenerates, and series appearances on Legit and Sam & Cat. He starred in Spinal Tap II (2025), working alongside Wee Man from Jackass, a casting that traced to Christopher Guest’s Mascots (2016), where he first worked with Guest. Williams co-hosts the podcast Heightened Babble with JB Ball.

Williams debuted at 713 Music Hall in April 2025, a show that required adjusting his physical performance style for the larger room. “I can’t just do little subtle movements,” he said at the time. “I have to be playing to the person in the back row.” The Big & Small Tour marks his return to the venue. “I’m playing with house money now,” he said in 2025. “Wherever this life goes, it’s already a win.” The show is suitable for ages 13 and up; no support act has been announced for the Houston date.
