RØZ at Aztec Theatre | November 12, 2026

RØZ played Coachella on both Sundays this past April — the kind of booking that signals an act has cleared a rung most touring electronic artists are still reaching for. Seven months later, Manolo Cabrera and Hugo Lara are opening a three-show Texas run at the Aztec Theatre on Thursday, November 12. San Antonio gets them first, before Houston and Dallas. First-night energy on a headliner leg. That’s not nothing.

About RØZ

The Mexican electronic duo met in high school, and the pivot came in mid-2022 when they shifted deliberately to Spanish-language lyrics — a decision that looks obvious in retrospect but required conviction in the moment. “We stopped giving a shit about what people wanted to hear,” Cabrera has said. “We just want to always bring something new.” Their sound is harder to pin down than most: drum and bass folding into reggaeton into UK garage into house, sometimes within the same set. Lara started as a classical violinist; Cabrera built his production instincts around large-scale festival culture. You can hear both origins in the music.

The breakthrough came with “Apaga La Luz” featuring Peso Pluma, which hit the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and widened the conversation. “CORA DE HIELO” followed as a viral anthem; “flashes” with Yng Lvcas continued the streak. Their debut EP, mañana, temprano (December 2025), moves through reggaeton, house, bachata, and techno across collaborations with Nsqk, DannyLux, El Bogueto, and UK producer Cloonee. Spotify has them at 1.4 million monthly listeners. The 2026 live calendar has included Coachella (both Sundays), Lollapalooza dates in Chicago, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil, Festival Estéreo Picnic in Colombia, and HARD Summer.

About the Aztec Theatre

The Aztec Theatre is celebrating its centennial this year. The former silent film palace opened in 1926, designed by Meyer and Holler — the same architectural firm behind Grauman’s Chinese and Egyptian Theatres in Los Angeles — with a Meso-American aesthetic that gives the room a visual character most touring productions can’t buy. It sat dark from 1989, reopened for live events in 2009, and was fully redeveloped in 2013. Live Nation operates it now; the building has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1992. At 1,477 capacity, it’s the right size for a show at this stage of a trajectory — close enough to matter.
