Prof at Aztec Theatre | October 23, 2026

GOOD TIME BOY, Prof’s eighth album, describes itself plainly: “a 100% human made record against fear, anxiety, and hopelessness.” That mission is specific — this is a record about addiction, inherited damage, existential anxiety, and trying to stay optimistic anyway. The Minneapolis rapper makes that case with fast, technical lyricism, real vocal range, and a guest list running from 2 Chainz and E-40 to That Mexican OT and Sauce Walka. He brings the full live show to the Aztec Theatre in San Antonio on Friday, October 23.

About the Show

The Midwest indie rap circuit doesn’t have a natural highway into Texas. Prof built his own. Twenty years in Minneapolis. Eight albums. His own imprint, Stophouse Music Group. His 2023 record Horse hit No. 2 on Billboard’s Current Rap Albums chart and topped the Heatseekers chart. In 2024 alone, he racked up 300 million streams and headlined more than 40 largely sold-out dates. His December 2024 single “Dynamite” cleared five million streams in under three months.

GOOD TIME BOY, released June 2026, pushed the production further. The sound moves between what one critic described as “wild, circus-like beats and dark, somber tones,” with prominent bass, bombastic brass, and complex percussion throughout. The writing balances humor with real weight — Prof, as one critic put it, “keeps clowning straight through the addiction and the inherited damage without ever switching voices.” Standout tracks cited by reviewers include “Dynamite,” “Kia Boy,” “Imposter,” and “Destiny.” The record has drawn strong notices: one outlet rated it 9.5 out of 10 and called Prof “one of the most underrated artists in the game.” Singing accounts for more of the album than most of his catalog, and reviewers have flagged his vocal range as a key part of what makes it work.

The San Antonio date is the second night of a 12-city fall headline run. Support comes from Norman Sann, Khantrast, and Willie Wonka.

Live, Prof is known for theatrical staging. He has been documented literally riding life-sized carpets over the crowd. His fanbase, the Gampos, shows up ready. Whatever you expect from an indie hip-hop show at a 1,477-capacity theater, this tends to go somewhere else.
