MICO at The Echo Lounge & Music Hall | October 22, 2026

“This is something that I willingly chose to enter.” That’s MICO in a July interview, talking about fame, and it’s the honest core of When the lights turn on, his debut album out June 26, which spends 10 tracks interrogating what happens when the audience you built on Discord voice chats and TikTok starts mistaking access for genuine intimacy.

About the Show

MICO (Jose Miguel Veloso) brings the Running from a Feeling Tour to The Echo Lounge & Music Hall in Dallas on Thursday, October 22, with Will Linley opening. The 34-date run touches North America, Asia, and Australia, and his fanbase (who call themselves the Amicos) have been filling rooms: five dates have already sold out and three shows have moved to larger venues since routing was announced. The Toronto-born, now Los Angeles-based artist is 23, signed to Columbia Records since August 2025, and had already put a sold-out world tour behind his 2024 record Internet hometown hero before that deal was finalized. He was nominated for the 2026 Juno Award for Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year and voiced Telemachus in Epic: The Musical.

When the lights turn on unfolds inside Stillville, a fictional Truman Show-inspired world where escapism isn’t a way out, and the album makes the concept earn its weight. MICO has described it as exploring “the emotional chaos of growing up in real time”: 10 tracks pulling from pop punk, hyperpop, and alt-rock that move through heartbreak, identity, and what it feels like to be visible and misread. His breakout track “cut my hair” earned tens of millions of streams before this cycle; the lead single DREAMBOY centers on idealization, on the gap between someone imagined and someone real. The album ranges further, from the pop-punk urgency of WHY ARE YOU HERE to the quieter guitar interiority of “Shoes.” Will Linley — South African-born, BMG-signed, and described as an artist who “coats raw emotion with saccharine melodies” — opens all North American dates. His debut single “miss me (when you’re gone)” hit 15 million global streams; debut full-length Don’t Cry Because It’s Over came out in 2025.
