MC Magic at Aztec Theatre | July 18, 2026

MC Magic brings his “Summer Love & Swangaz” tour to San Antonio on Saturday, July 18, with Paul Wall alongside at the Aztec Theatre. Doors at 7:30 PM.

The show title does the heavy lifting. “Swangaz” is not a generic term — it’s specific to Houston car culture, the 84-spoke wire wheels that have been a fixture of Houston rap’s visual identity for decades. Paul Wall built his entire public identity around that world, and having him on this bill tells you exactly what kind of night this is: a Southwest-to-Texas handshake, two distinct hip-hop traditions on the same stage.

About MC Magic

MC Magic is Marco Cardenas, born in Nogales, Sonora, and raised in Avondale, Arizona. He founded NastyBoy Records in 1990 and spent the next three-plus decades building one of the most loyal followings in Southwest hip-hop. His sound sits at the intersection of hip-hop and R&B, English and Spanish — smooth, romantic, built for the Southwest audience as much as the touring circuit. Magic City (2006) hit number one on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. His 2026 touring schedule runs May through October across the Southwest and beyond, and this San Antonio stop is a standalone date, separate from his concurrent Latin Legacy Tour.

About Paul Wall

Paul Wall is Houston through and through. He came up through Swishahouse in the late nineties alongside Chamillionaire — their 2002 collaboration Get Ya Mind Correct is a Texas rap document — and crossed over with The People’s Champ in 2005, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. “Grillz,” his collaboration with Nelly, hit number one on the Hot 100 and earned a Grammy nomination. He co-founded a custom grills business with jeweler Johnny Dang that became part of Houston culture in its own right. When the show is called “Swangaz,” Paul Wall is the reason.

The Venue

The Aztec Theatre opened in 1926 as a silent film palace in downtown San Antonio. Designed by Meyer and Holler — the same firm behind Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles — it’s one of the better-preserved examples of Meso-American-inspired architecture in the country. The venue closed in 1989 and was restored before reopening as a live music hall in 2013. It holds 1,477 and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1992.
