Killswitch Engage rolls into San Antonio on June 21 behind This Consequence, their ninth record on Metal Blade — and the fact that they’re doing it in a 3,100-cap theater instead of an arena tells you exactly how this tour is being framed. Not a victory lap. A return-to-the-room run, where the PA is close and Jesse Leach’s presence fills the space the way it was meant to. After 25-plus years, platinum certifications, three Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance, and three consecutive Top 10 Billboard 200 placements, Killswitch Engage choosing a room this size is a deliberate move. Take it seriously.

This Consequence, out February 2025 on Metal Blade, landed at No. 1 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums chart and No. 41 on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative chart. Lead single “I Believe” peaked at No. 3. The record follows the band’s socially conscious thread — war, division, complicity — that’s been central since Leach returned. It’s the ninth full-length from the Westfield, Massachusetts outfit that first made real noise with Alive Or Just Breathing in 2002 and earned Gold and Platinum certifications for The End of Heartache and As Daylight Dies along the way. Leach put it plainly: “We are hitting major cities and bringing along with us an absolutely killer lineup.”

He’s not wrong about the lineup. Machine Head — Robb Flynn’s Bay Area institution, veterans of the same heavy-touring era — co-headline. Iron Reagan and Havok round it out. That’s a full four-band evening from people who’ve been doing this a long time and haven’t gotten soft about it.
