Khalid brings the It’s Always Summer Somewhere Tour to 713 Music Hall on Thursday, June 18, and the bill is stronger than a standard headlining show. Lauv is a full co-headliner — equal billing, two complete sets, one night. Doors at 7:30 PM.
About Khalid
Khalid Donnel Robinson grew up moving. His family is military, which means El Paso, Germany, New York — wherever the orders sent them. He ended up at Americas High School in El Paso long enough to matter, posting songs to SoundCloud before anyone knew his name. “Location” (2016) found its audience fast. By the time American Teen came out in 2017, he had Grammy nominations and a voice that felt like it was processing something real — not performed sentiment, but the actual thing. Texas had a hand in making him, and the touring circuit has been bringing him back ever since.
He comes to Houston behind after the sun goes down, his fourth studio album, released in October 2025. It’s his most personal record. The production reaches into pop territory the earlier albums didn’t — critics noted echoes of Janet Jackson and Britney Spears in how it moves. He’s freer on this record, and the tour sets are built around that: full career span, from the American Teen anthems through the new material.
Also on the bill: Lauv, whose “I Like Me Better” and “I’m So Tired” built him a devoted following in the indie-pop and electronic-pop space. He co-headlines every night on this run, not just opens — both artists play full sets.
The Texas stretch is three nights back to back: Irving on June 17, Houston on June 18, Austin on June 19. The 713 date is the middle stop.
713 Music Hall
713 Music Hall is at 401 Franklin Street in Downtown Houston, built into the east wing of the former Barbara Jordan Post Office — a sprawling federal building converted into a 5,000-capacity music hall. The design centers on sightlines; the angled floor layout keeps clean views from most positions, and the room has bars spread throughout so you’re not hunting for a drink between sets. It’s the city’s anchor venue for the touring R&B and contemporary pop circuit. For more shows in the area, see our Houston concerts guide.
