When Jorge Medina brings the Legendario Tour to Houston on Friday, August 7, he’s opening the entire U.S. leg of the run — and he’s opening it at 713 Music Hall. Few markets have followed his career more closely than Houston. The crowd that walks in that night already knows the catalog.
About Jorge Medina
Medina was born in Cacalotán, El Rosario, Sinaloa — a state that has been producing banda sinaloense for generations. He briefly studied medicine before music made the decision for him. After working through regional acts, he landed the lead vocal spot with La Arrolladora Banda El Limón in 1997, a gig he held for two full decades: more than 5,500 performances and 22 albums recorded with the band before officially departing in June 2017.
His solo run launched immediately. He signed with Fonovisa Records and Universal Music Latin Entertainment and released Así O Más Claro (2018) and Directo Al Corazón (2019). Singles including “Me Tengo Que Ir,” “Espero Que Tú,” and “Porque Tú Llegaste” moved steadily through the regional Mexican market. He spent much of the past two years on the road in Mexico under the Juntos concept alongside Josi Cuen, reportedly breaking attendance records throughout the run.
The Legendario Tour arrives in the U.S. with large-scale production and plans for a live recording project. Guest appearances are confirmed for select dates across the run — names haven’t been announced. Houston gets night one. Whether a guest shows up or not, Medina has made his position clear: “It is a great pleasure for me to reaffirm my musical legacy with a public that has given me so much. Fans can be sure that I will leave everything on the stage for them.”
