Helado Negro at The Echo Lounge & Music Hall | November 12, 2026

Roberto Carlos Lange has been building Helado Negro for years: atmospheric, bilingual pop shaped by growing up in South Florida as the child of Ecuadorian immigrants. Then in June 2024 he walked into a studio in North Carolina, met Fabi Reyna of Reyna Tropical for the first time, and gave three days to something he hadn’t planned. They built songs in real time, following each other’s instincts across sessions in North Carolina, Portland, and the Midwest. The nine tracks that came out of that process became Helado Tropical, released July 17, 2026. On Thursday, November 12, both artists bring the record to Dallas.

About the Show

This is a co-headlining date — Lange and Reyna performing together as Helado Tropical, not a headliner-plus-opener arrangement. The record’s Bandcamp page describes the music as channeling “easy, sun-drenched tenderness into sound,” sitting “somewhere between ambient and rhythmic, intimate and expansive; essentially, a sonic language of its own making, shaped as much by feeling as by form.” All nine tracks are sung in Spanish; released singles “Sensación” and “Tocando” gave audiences a first listen earlier this year before the full album arrived in July. Earlier in 2026, the two opened for CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso in Toronto and Montreal before moving into their own North American headline run.

Each artist carries a distinct lineage into the collaboration. Lange, a South Florida native born to Ecuadorian immigrants, has built the Helado Negro project around themes of Latino identity and vulnerability, working in what he describes as “compassionate, atmospheric, and experimental pop.” He received a United States Artists Fellowship in Music in 2019. Fabi Reyna has been Reyna Tropical’s sole member since co-founder Nectali “Sumohair” Díaz died in 2022. Reyna Tropical draws on Colombian, Peruvian, Mexican, and Congolese musical traditions across Afro-Indigenous, Tropical, Electronic, and Latin styles; Reyna Tropical’s debut solo album, Malegría, appeared in early 2024.

The Dallas show is the sixth stop of a 14-date fall leg. The run opened October 23 in Washington, DC. After Dallas, the tour continues the following night in Austin, then Houston, Atlanta, Orlando, and Miami before closing November 26 at the Lunario del Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City.
