Flawed Mangoes plays The Echo Lounge & Music Hall on Friday, June 5 — the first time Evan Lo has brought his guitar project to Dallas/Fort Worth, on a North American tour that represents a genuine leap in scale. A year ago, his entire live footprint was three sold-out shows in New York, Los Angeles, and Boston. Now he’s running The Killswitch Memories Tour with Live Nation across the U.S. and Canada, and Dallas gets a date. That trajectory tells you something about where this is headed.
Lo is 27, from Newton, Massachusetts — a former Bose engineer who taught himself to loop and layer guitar until the internet made him the de facto soundtrack for “hopecore.” That’s the genre tag that crystallized around 2023, applied to TikTok montages cut for maximum emotional pull. Lo didn’t engineer the aesthetic deliberately, but his track “Killswitch Lullaby” — built around reverb-drenched loops and a modified Telecaster fitted with a DIY killswitch — became one of its defining pieces, crossing 100 million Spotify streams. The track names this tour, and it’s part of why a first-time Dallas date lands in a 1,000-capacity room rather than something smaller.
Lately he’s been pushing past that origin story. The 2024 EP The Unwavering Hand stayed mostly instrumental, but the 2025 releases Anomaly I and Anomaly II lean harder into shoegaze territory — heavier, vocally present, built more like a band record than a solo guitar loop project. A set that draws across that arc is going to cover different ground than the ambient guitar loops that first spread his name online. That’s probably the point.
Support comes from Scarlet House, who bring a packed touring calendar of their own to the evening.
The Echo Lounge & Music Hall sits at 1323 N Stemmons Fwy in Dallas — a 1,000-capacity theater room that handles the mid-tier of the Dallas/Fort Worth concert scene well. For a first DFW show by an artist whose breakout track has crossed eight figures on Spotify, it’s a correctly-sized booking: confident without being reckless. Doors at 7:00 PM, show at 8:00 PM. All ages.
Tickets for Flawed Mangoes at The Echo Lounge & Music Hall on June 5 are on sale now.
