Don Omar at Toyota Center | October 23, 2026

In 2006, when reggaeton was still arguing for legitimacy on American radio — still getting written off in certain critical quarters as a regional novelty that wouldn’t last — William Omar Landrón released King of Kings and settled most of the argument. The album debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and stayed there for eleven consecutive weeks. It reached number seven on the Billboard 200, the highest any reggaeton record had charted in the United States at that point. The genre had found its arena voice. That voice belonged to Don Omar, El Rey, and twenty years on, he hasn’t stopped proving it.

He brings The Last King World Tour to Toyota Center in Houston on Friday, October 23, 2026. Doors open at 7:00 PM; the show begins at 8:00 PM.

About Don Omar

Born William Omar Landrón Rivera on February 10, 1978, in Santurce, Puerto Rico — raised in Villa Palmeras — Don Omar came to music through a door most performers never enter. Before he was El Rey, he was a preacher at the Fuente de Agua Viva church in Bayamón. That background never disappeared from his stage craft. The signature moment of the original King of Kings tour had him emerging in a white suit with a full-length hooded cape to deliver a fire-and-brimstone sermon before the music opened up. That’s not showmanship borrowed from somewhere else. That’s a man who grew up in the pulpit, and who never entirely moved out.

His debut album, The Last Don (2003), has sold over four million copies worldwide. King of Kings followed in 2006, producing the catalog of hits — “Dale Don Dale,” “Salio El Sol,” “Bandoleros,” “Angelito,” “Danza Kuduro” — that defined his era and, in large measure, the genre itself. He was the first reggaeton artist to perform at Madison Square Garden. Across his career, his catalog has accumulated more than 12 million records sold worldwide.

The recognition has been consistent: multiple Billboard Latin Music Awards, Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, Premios Juventud honors, and Latin Grammy recognition. In 2024, Premio Lo Nuestro gave him its Global Icon Award — the kind of citation that doesn’t invite debate so much as record it. His most recent studio album, Forever King, arrived in 2023. The official site notes his catalog is becoming available on vinyl for the first time in twenty years.

The Last King World Tour follows the 2024 Back to Reggaetón Tour, which sold more than 335,000 tickets across 39 shows and grossed more than $32.9 million — ranking it among Billboard’s top Latin tours of that year. This run is something different: 21 arena dates across North America, September 25 through November 8, with the 20th anniversary of King of Kings as its explicit occasion. The Texas leg rolls through Dallas on October 1 (American Airlines Center), San Antonio on October 22 (Frost Bank Center), Houston on October 23, and El Paso on October 25. VIP packages are available for the Houston date, including photo experiences with Don Omar, premium seating options, and exclusive merchandise.

Toyota Center

Toyota Center sits at 1510 Polk Street in downtown Houston, an 18,043-capacity arena that has served as the primary destination for major touring acts through the fourth-largest city in the United States. Houston’s Latin music audience has long been one of the most substantial markets in the country — this is a city whose demographic depth has always made it a reliable home for Latin pop and urban Latin at this scale, and a room that knows what to do with a show this size.
