Twenty years is a long time to carry a record, and Blue October seems determined to prove Foiled deserves the weight. The Houston band brings the Foiled 20th Anniversary Tour to Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio on Saturday, December 12 — performing the 2006 platinum album in its entirety, start to finish. Showtime is 8:00 PM, doors at 7:00.
About Blue October
Formed in Houston in 1995 and led by frontman Justin Furstenfeld, Blue October ground out years of Texas dates before Foiled broke them nationally. “Hate Me” and “Into the Ocean” were the singles that crossed over; the post-grunge label that followed them around since has never quite fit, because Furstenfeld’s writing is more confessional than the genre implies — more personal, more unguarded. That’s exactly why this anniversary format works: Foiled is the kind of record with a loyal audience that knows exactly where they were when they heard it.
The Foiled 20th Anniversary Tour launched in October from Abilene and runs through March 2027 across North America. Furstenfeld put it plainly when the tour was announced: “Let’s show and remind everyone just how special and eclectic that album is. And, most importantly, how much we wore our heart on the work.”
