beabadoobee’s fourth studio album, Pylon, drops September 18, and the collaborator sheet reads like a declaration: Hayley Williams, Chino Moreno of Deftones, Brendan Yates of Turnstile, producers Matty Healy and George Daniel of The 1975. The record draws from grunge, midwest emo, and ’90s radio rock — a sharper, heavier turn from the alt-pop that built her following — and she’s bringing it to arenas for the first time. The Powerlines Tour hits Austin’s Germania Insurance Amphitheater on Saturday, October 17.

Beatrice Laus is the Filipino-born, West London-raised singer-songwriter who taught herself guitar at 17 and released her first song, “Coffee,” that same year. The track was later sampled in Powfu’s 2020 hit “death bed (coffee for your head),” and that moment of virality bought her a genuine foothold. She earned the Radar Award at the 2020 NME Awards; her third album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, debuted at number one in the UK in 2024. Now she’s making the jump to arenas. The Powerlines Tour spans 30 North American and European dates from October 1 through December 7, with stops at Madison Square Garden, the Kia Forum, and London’s O2. Wisp, a Gen Z San Francisco shoegaze band, opens the North American leg, Austin included.
Pylon is Laus’s most aggressive rock record to date: 14 tracks drawing from grunge and ’90s radio rock, built alongside collaborators including Title Fight’s Shane Moran and Pinegrove’s Evan Stephens Hall. The album title references electricity towers she observed from tour buses while feeling cut off from home between runs. Lead single “Sun Has Set” makes the case early — distorted guitars, screaming vocals — what she called “petty tunnel vision” about a relationship she’s done relitigating. “A lot of the songs on this record are things I wish I could have said to someone,” she said. Pylon arrives September 18 via Dirty Hit and Interscope.

Germania Insurance Amphitheater is at Circuit of the Americas on Austin’s southeast side, with a capacity of 14,000. Laus was in theaters on her last run; the jump here is real and maps to where a UK number-one places an artist in the booking cycle. Show is Saturday, October 17, at 8 p.m.
