BABYMETAL at Germania Insurance Amphitheater | September 26, 2026

BABYMETAL plays Germania Insurance Amphitheater on Saturday, September 26, and the room tells you where this band is right now. Not a theater. Fourteen thousand capacity, outdoor, at COTA, three days after a Dallas stop at Dos Equis Pavilion. They arrive fresh off METAL FORTH debuting at number nine on the Billboard 200 — the first U.S. Top 10 album by an all-Japanese fronted group — and a headline run that included London’s O2 Arena in May 2025. The amphitheater booking isn’t a reach. It’s a statement of record.

About BABYMETAL

The concept hasn’t moved since Kobametal assembled the project in Tokyo in 2010: J-pop idol aesthetics fused to heavy metal — kawaii metal, the term they coined and the genre they essentially invented. What has shifted is the scale. Current members SU-METAL, MOAMETAL, and MOMOMETAL perform over the Kami Band, session musicians delivering thrash riffs and double-kick drumming while the trio runs synchronized choreography and harmonies that have no business landing as hard as they do over that kind of instrumentation. The incongruity is the point.

METAL FORTH (2025, Capitol Records) is the clearest proof the crossover is real. Tom Morello, Poppy, and Spiritbox all appear on the record. A deluxe edition drops June 26 with live cuts and remixes from Major Lazer and Jordan Fish. The band opened for Metallica, Lady Gaga, and Red Hot Chili Peppers on the way up; this year they opened for My Chemical Romance at Petco Park before the North American leg of this tour even started. The company they’re keeping has changed.

Halestorm and Violent Vira open. Halestorm belongs on this bill — a proper hard rock act with the stage presence to work at amphitheater scale. Get there early.

About Germania Insurance Amphitheater

Germania Insurance Amphitheater sits on the Circuit of the Americas campus southeast of Austin, the same complex that runs Formula 1 and MotoGP. At 14,000 capacity, it’s the largest outdoor amphitheater in Central Texas. Reserved seating runs through the house; general admission lawn fills out the back. A production-heavy act like BABYMETAL needs the square footage — the lighting and staging they bring to these shows requires a room that can actually contain it. This one can.
