Álvaro Díaz at Aztec Theatre | October 31, 2026

Álvaro Díaz doesn’t pick a lane. The Puerto Rican rapper and singer built his catalog from plena, bomba, reggaetón, soul, funk, and hip-hop — not as genre tourism, but as the actual music he grew up inside in Hato Rey, San Juan. His latest album, OMAKASE, channels that range into a new frame: the Japanese chef’s tasting menu, weaving together what the press materials call “unexpected sonic flavors, textures, and combinations” in a carefully crafted journey. Released in May 2026 via Universal Music Latino, it debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s Top Albums Global Debut chart and reached the top spot in more than 16 countries, including Mexico and Colombia. The OMAKASE TOUR brings that record to the Aztec Theatre in San Antonio on Saturday, October 31.

About the Show

Díaz performs as part of a 33-city run across Latin America and the United States, with the San Antonio date capping a three-night Texas stretch: Irving on October 29, Houston on October 30, San Antonio on Halloween. He’s been building toward a moment like this since 2012, when he began uploading to SoundCloud as one of the early Latin Trap pioneers out of San Juan. His 2015 debut album, Hato Rey, named for his neighborhood, blended soul, funk, reggaetón, plena, and bomba in ways that predated a lot of the genre-blending conversation that followed. A three-time Latin Grammy nominee, he’s recognized for “Reina Pepiada,” “MALASNOTICIAS” with Latin Mafia, and “PERDISTE EL EMMY” with Tainy; both artists appear on OMAKASE alongside Akrilla, Jesse Báez, and RUBI. He composes, produces, and oversees all creative direction, treating each album as what he calls “a complete artistic ecosystem.” Tour press materials describe this production as “the most ambitious live production to date,” a live translation of the album’s cinematic world. No support act has been announced.

Venue & Logistics
