Shane Boose spent his teens building a home studio on the Lower East Side, went viral with “Caroline,” and signed with Warner Records in 2023. The Sombr project that came out of that bedroom now has a debut album, a GRAMMY nomination, an MTV VMA, and a single that spent 52 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. The You Are The Reason Tour arrives at Moody Center on October 20.
About the Show
Boose attended LaGuardia High as a vocal major and assembled his first studio at 14, releasing music as Sombr before the Warner deal materialized in January 2023. By 2023 he was collaborating with producer Tony Berg — whose credits include Phoebe Bridgers, Boy Genius, and The Replacements — on the EP In Another Life. The full-length debut, I Barely Know Her, arrived on Warner in August 2025, an album rooted in indie rock and pop that moves through heartbreak, longing, and New York City. It debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200 and reached number two on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart.
“Undressed” and “Back to Friends” had already been building before the LP dropped. “Back to Friends” went on to spend 52 weeks on the Hot 100 Top 10 and reached number one on both Spotify’s Global chart and Alternative Radio. The follow-up single “Homewrecker” marked his fifth Billboard Global 200 entry and the highest first-week debut of his catalog. A GRAMMY Best New Artist nomination, a telecast performance, and an MTV VMA for Best Alternative followed. The single “Potential” arrived in April 2026 ahead of Coachella, where Boose’s festival debut included a guest appearance from Billy Corgan.
The Austin date is one stop on a 39-date run from Mexico City on July 22 through two nights at Madison Square Garden on November 23–24. Two support acts are on the bill. The Last Dinner Party — a London five-piece founded in 2021 whose baroque-inflected art rock draws comparisons to Kate Bush, Sparks, and Siouxsie and the Banshees — arrive behind Prelude to Ecstasy (number one on the UK Albums Chart, BBC Sound of 2024, Mercury Prize nominee) and the follow-up From the Pyre (2025). The Hellp also appears.
