About Project Pat
Born Patrick Earl Houston in Memphis, Tennessee, Project Pat is the older brother of Juicy J — Three 6 Mafia co-founder and one of the architects of dirty south rap. That lineage runs straight through Houston. When “Sippin’ on Some Syrup” hit in 2000, it landed in a city that understood codeine rap on a cellular level. The Three 6 / Hypnotize Minds universe was playing out of cars on the same streets where DJ Screw was building his own sonic language. These weren’t parallel movements — they were neighbors.
Mista Don’t Play: Everythangs Workin’ (2001) cemented Pat’s place in southern rap history. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. “Chickenhead” went on to become one of the most sampled Southern rap tracks of all time. “Don’t Save Her,” “Gorilla Pimp” — Pat had a way of writing street narrative that was vivid without being performative. His delivery was deliberate, baritone, unhurried — a Memphis sound that moved slow on purpose.
The career slowed when Pat served a federal sentence from 2001 to 2005, then continued building. In 2021, Drake tapped him for “Knife Talk” on Certified Lover Boy — the track peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. A new generation ran back to the catalog. In 2023, Pat and Juicy J released Them Goats — their first full joint album in over a decade. The catalog keeps compounding.
The Redemption Tour runs the Gulf Coast back-to-back: Houston on November 27, New Orleans on November 28. Pat arrives with more than 25 years of recorded work and a live show that can reach into any corner of it.
