Olivia Dean at Moody Center ATX | August 28, 2026

There is a lineage in American soul music — a passing of something almost unclassifiable from Aretha Franklin to Lauryn Hill to Amy Winehouse to the next voice the tradition chooses — and the tradition has apparently chosen Olivia Dean. She is twenty-seven years old, born in Haringey, North London, with an English father and Jamaican-Guyanese roots on her mother’s side. She absorbed Al Green and Jill Scott and Angie Stone the way the best British singers always have: seriously, as source material rather than reference points. She won the Grammy for Best New Artist in 2026. She sold out six consecutive nights at the London O2 Arena earlier this year. On Friday, August 28, she plays the Moody Center ATX — and Austin, notably, is the final stop of her first-ever headlining North American arena tour.

That last fact deserves a beat. Dean launched the North American leg of The Art of Loving Live Tour at Chase Center in San Francisco on July 10, moved through Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Madison Square Garden in New York, State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Toyota Center in Houston just three nights before this date. Fourteen dates. Austin is where she ends it. Whatever that last-night energy is — the looseness, the accumulated weight of a run that worked — you’ll find it here.

About Olivia Dean

The Art of Loving, her second studio album, released September 26, 2025, on Capitol/Polydor Records, did not arrive quietly. It went to number one in the UK, Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, and landed at number seven on the Billboard 200. It made Dean the first female solo artist to simultaneously chart four songs in the UK top 10, and the first British female solo artist to top the albums and singles charts simultaneously since 2021. It won British Album of the Year at the Brit Awards. At the 2026 Grammys, where she won Best New Artist, she used her acceptance speech to acknowledge her grandmother’s immigration experience as part of the Windrush generation — threading the Caribbean heritage she carries directly into the record’s emotional core.

Rolling Stone described her star power as “radiant and fueled by more than just charisma,” praising her ability to navigate “blaring brass instruments with delicate attention to detail.” Her debut, Messy (2023), had reached number four on the UK charts and earned a Mercury Prize nomination. The second record confirmed what the first had suggested: this is not a one-album story.

The songs are worth knowing before you go. “Man I Need” is the album’s boldest piece — soulful, yearning, the kind of track that takes up room. “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” captures joy and danger in the same breath. “A Couple Minutes” turns the scarcity of time into something genuinely heartbreaking. These are songs built from real emotional ambition, written by someone who has been absorbing the right records since she was old enough to understand what a record is.

Dean has partnered with PLUS1 on this tour, donating one dollar from every ticket to hurricane relief efforts in Jamaica — a commitment that connects directly to her heritage.

About the Venue

Moody Center ATX sits at 2001 Robert Dedman Drive on the University of Texas campus in Austin. The arena holds 15,000. It is Austin’s largest indoor venue, built for exactly this scale of show — the kind of room that separates arena acts from arena hopefuls. Dean’s appearance here is confirmation of which category she belongs in.
