Melanie Martinez at Moody Center | August 3, 2026

Melanie Martinez has lived in the Cry Baby universe for nearly a decade—porcelain imagery, melancholic synth-pop, the carefully curated aesthetic that made her famous. HADES, her fourth album released March 27, 2026, is her way out. It debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart in its opening week, 84,000 album-equivalent units of a record built around darker imagery, stranger themes, and subject matter addressing contemporary societal issues rather than the melancholic bedroom-pop persona that became her trademark. The tour supporting it—HADES: THE SACRIFICE, 26 dates running through September—shifts production philosophy to match: practical effects and camera illusions rather than the projection-heavy setups of previous eras. The August 3 show at Moody Center in Austin arrives early in that transition, and if you’ve followed her from Cry Baby through PORTALS and into this new chapter, it’s worth noting the date.

About the Album and Tour

HADES is an 18-track, 70-minute record announced April 16, 2026. The presale ran April 22; general sale began April 24. Four singles have charted the shift: “Possession” (released January 28), “Disney Princess,” “Uncanny Valley,” and “The Vatican.” Each one marks the aesthetic move—away from the synth-pop introspection of Cry Baby and toward imagery more deliberately confrontational. The HADES: THE SACRIFICE tour opened July 15 in St. Paul and travels through 11+ major markets across North America, Mexico, and Europe before wrapping September 26.

What to Expect

The production is built around practical effects and camera illusions rather than the projection-heavy approach that defined her previous tours. The aesthetic is intentionally dystopian—a visual complement to the album’s darker thematic territory. Early dates in the tour are still settling into the new production, which means the August 3 show will capture her early in the process of refining a significantly reimagined live presentation.
