Her résumé runs deeper than a television career. Burruss co-founded Xscape, the R&B quartet that released three studio albums through the 1990s — the 1993 debut “Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha’” went platinum and produced multiple top-ten Billboard hits — and the group sold over 12 million U.S. records in total. After the group’s initial run ended, she built a second career as one of the more consequential songwriters of the era. She co-wrote “No Scrubs” for TLC, which won Best R&B Song at the 42nd Annual Grammys in 2000. She co-wrote “Bills, Bills, Bills” for Destiny’s Child. Her credits run through Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, Pink, NSYNC, and Ed Sheeran. ASCAP named her Songwriter of the Year in 2000, making her the first Black woman to receive the honor in any genre. That same restlessness carried her through fourteen seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Broadway appearances in Chicago and & Juliet, and a Tony Award nomination for producing the 2022 Broadway revival of The Piano Lesson. She has operated across entertainment for more than thirty years. This tour is the part she wrote for herself.
