Jutes at House of Blues Houston | September 5, 2026

There’s a specific kind of artist who shows up at House of Blues on a first real headlining run — the kind who’s been doing the work longer than the ticket-buying public knows, and is finally running out of reasons to stay in the middle. Jutes is that artist in 2026. The Ottawa-born singer and songwriter — full name Jordan Lutes — lands in Houston on September 5 behind Dilworth, his most direct statement yet, and a room that seats 1,800 feels about right: big enough to say something’s happening, small enough to stay honest.

About Jutes

If Jutes’ name is new to you, his songwriting credits probably aren’t. He spent years behind the boards writing for Demi Lovato, Charlotte Sands, ILLENIUM, and iann dior before pivoting full-time to his own catalog around 2020. He signed with Capitol Records in 2021, eventually departed to go independent, and has been building a touring fanbase on a sound that doesn’t fit cleanly anywhere — hip-hop cadences, hard rock weight, confessional R&B at the core.

Dilworth, released November 2025 as a 15-track deluxe, is where the formula locks in. The album layers nu-metal heaviness over cinematic atmosphere and the kind of emotional directness that reads, to Jutes’ audience, like being seen. He’s described the record as “dark, passionate, devastating, angry, raunchy, and hopeful” — one track, “Facelift,” was originally written for a Fast and Furious film scene, which tells you something about the sonic register he’s working in. The campaign earned him a Juno Award nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, a validation he’s chasing with a North American run that cuts through major markets from Phoenix to Los Angeles.

The Houston date falls inside a tight Texas sweep: three stops in six days, running from here through Emo’s East in Austin on September 8 and House of Blues Dallas on September 10. That’s a market that wants a close look before committing to a bigger room, and it’s a reasonable wager. Support for the Houston show comes from Mothica and wilt, two artists who orbit the same alt-emotional space Jutes has staked out. If you’re not already listening to either, this is a clean entry point.
