Forrest Frank grew up in Houston, relocated to Waco, and on Thursday, July 30, he brings The Jesus Generation Tour to Moody Center — where reserved seating and the general admission pit have already sold out, leaving VIP packages as the remaining entry to the most ambitious Christian touring event of this year.
The biography that got him here is worth knowing. Frank came up through Surfaces, a surf-pop duo that built a devoted following on smooth, easygoing music that moved comfortably through streaming playlists and steady tours. In 2021, by his own account, he stepped back from it on what he describes as a divine call — moved to Waco, became a father, took a year off from the road, and started writing what would become CHILD OF GOD.
That record, released in July 2024, didn’t tiptoe into the Christian market. Twenty tracks, all produced by Frank himself, blending R&B, pop, and gospel in proportions that turned out to be exactly right for 2024. It debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart and stayed there for thirteen consecutive weeks. The RIAA certified it Gold. More than a billion global streams followed. It was, by trade consensus, the best-selling Christian album of the year. A GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album came in November 2024; that October, the GMA Dove Awards gave him New Artist of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for “GOOD DAY.” None of this arrived with the traditional major-label infrastructure behind it. It arrived because the songs worked.
“YOUR WAY’S BETTER” crossed the genre line entirely — into the Billboard Hot 100, up to No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs of 2025, and RIAA Gold certified. By the 2026 GRAMMYs, Frank held two additional nominations: “Your Way’s Better” for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song and Child of God II for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. Three GMA Dove Awards came in October 2025, Artist of the Year among them.
The Jesus Generation Tour is Frank’s first stadium-scale run: 29 U.S. cities, presented by TPR, with an immersive in-the-round stage that positions the performance at the center of the room rather than one end of it. This is billed as a worship experience, and the night is structured accordingly. Doors open at 5:30 PM. The Figs greet arriving fans. Cory Asbury leads the worship set. Tori Kelly opens the main performance before Frank takes the stage at 7:00 PM.
Moody Center is at 2001 Robert Dedman Drive on the UT Austin campus, capacity 15,000. Clear bag policy is in effect; no age restrictions apply.
