Dying Fetus at House of Blues Houston | October 17, 2026

Dying Fetus formed in 1991. Sanguisugabogg formed in 2019. That’s a 28-year gap in founding dates that reads less like a generational divide than a handoff in progress — the Maryland power trio that’s been a fixed point in American extreme metal for three and a half decades, and the Columbus outfit that John Gallagher calls “the new breed of extreme metal.” Their fall 2026 co-headline tour, 32 cities across North America, hits House of Blues Houston on Saturday, October 17.

About the Show

The bill runs five deep: Dying Fetus and Sanguisugabogg co-headlining, with Crowbar, Left to Suffer, and Deterioration on support throughout most of the run. Scorching Tomb joins on select dates. Gallagher put it directly when the tour was announced: “Crowbar and Deterioration are legends in their own right, Sanguisugabogg are leading the new breed of extreme metal, and Left to Suffer are one of the hottest up-and-coming heavyweights — We are bringing all of it to 32 cities this fall, and we’re not holding anything back.”

Dying Fetus has released nine studio albums since 1996, blending death metal, hardcore, and grind. Their catalog found its first main Billboard album chart entry with Reign Supreme (2012), then again with Wrong One to Fuck With (2017). The ninth record, Make Them Beg For Death, came out September 8, 2023, on Relapse Records, recorded at WrightWay Studios in Baltimore and described as “fast, intense, and brimming with unstoppable grooves.” The current lineup is a power trio: John Gallagher on vocals and guitar, Sean Beasley on bass, Trey Williams on drums. Sanguisugabogg, the Columbus, Ohio death metal band that started on Maggot Stomp in 2019 before signing to Century Media Records, has spent the years since establishing itself at the front of active extreme metal — the kind of label trajectory that tends to track real audience growth.
