Three Texas dates in three nights — Austin on July 23, Houston area on July 24, Fort Worth on July 25. You don’t route a triple-shot sweep of this state unless you know where your audience lives, and the Parrothead community in Texas has been among the most committed in the country for decades. The Coral Reefer Band lands at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands on Friday, July 24, as part of the Keep The Party Going Tour — Presented by Margaritaville.
The tour’s name carries real weight. Jimmy Buffett died on September 1, 2023, at age 76, following a four-year battle with Merkel cell carcinoma. Before he died, his directive to the band was direct: keep the party going. The musicians honoring that request aren’t tribute artists approximating his work from recordings — they’re the players who built the sound with Buffett, going back to 1973.
About The Coral Reefer Band
The ensemble is anchored by Mac McAnally, a 10-time CMA winner with deep roots in the Buffett touring camp. He shares lead vocal duties with Scotty Emerick, Will Kimbrough, Peter Mayer, and Nadirah Shakoor — a lineup that between them logged 40 tours and 30 albums alongside Buffett. They’re not approximating the catalog. They helped make it.
The setlist draws from Buffett’s signature songs and deeper cuts both, along with stories from musicians who performed alongside him throughout his career. The tour benefits Singing for Change, a nonprofit supporting grassroots community organizations — a charitable tradition the band continues in his honor.
