Chanté Moore at Will Rogers Auditorium | August 14, 2026

Chanté Moore plays Will Rogers Auditorium on Friday, August 14. She has been making records since 1992, and her voice — Rolling Stone called it a “supple soprano that floats over and into songs” — has not lost the thread. The Fort Worth date is part of a summer run that includes separate co-bills with Gregory Porter and Eddie Levert at other stops. She is moving, and she has something to play for: her 2026 album EVOLve is on the way.

About Chanté Moore

Moore was raised in San Francisco by a gospel singer, and the church foundation runs through everything she’s recorded. She made her way to Los Angeles through the theater circuit — she was performing in the Motown musical Heat Wave in 1989 when she met singer El DeBarge, which led to management and eventually a deal with MCA Records’ Silas imprint. Her debut album, Precious, came out in September 1992 and went RIAA Gold. “Love’s Taken Over” reached #13 on the R&B charts. Rolling Stone praised her “superb singing and writing.” That debut positioned her in the 90s R&B moment without being reducible to it — the gospel depth and jazz fluency gave the records a shelf life that most of her contemporaries couldn’t match.

In 1999, “Chanté’s Got a Man” reached #2 on the R&B chart and crossed into the Billboard Hot 100 top ten. She appeared on the soundtracks to Waiting to Exhale and How Stella Got Her Groove Back and collaborated with Boyz II Men and the Isley Brothers. She won an American Music Award. The catalog holds.

In 2024, Moore became the first American ever to compete on Hunan TV’s Singer 2024 in China — a competition drawing 220 million weekly viewers. She tied for the most first-place finishes across the entire run. “To me, it feels like I’m beginning a whole another part of my career,” she said. The evidence supports it: EVOLve, her 2026 album, is produced by Babyface, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and Tricky Stewart. That’s not a nostalgia budget. That’s someone making a record to matter.
