Zach Williams came up on Pantera and Rage Against the Machine. The kid from Bono, Arkansas (a town of 2,000 near Jonesboro, where his father led church worship) picked up guitar after a family friend opened a case containing a red cherry burst Les Paul. High school was hard rock; college brought a basketball scholarship and his first blues festival, where Luther Allison and Keb’ Mo’ flipped something. He spent years playing regionally before the pivot that turned him into a two-time GRAMMY winner with platinum records and nearly one billion career streams. The Revival Nights Tour, rolling October 1 through November 21, carries that trajectory into the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio on Friday, November 6 â framed by Williams as having “energy this fall that’s a little gritty, a lot louder, and always real.”
About the Show
Williams is touring behind the songs that mapped his career: debut-album cuts “Chainbreaker” and “Fear Is A Liar” (both platinum), “Old Church Choir” (gold), and “There Was Jesus,” the platinum single he recorded with Dolly Parton. His official biography describes the catalog as “worn down in the best way, but all heart underneath rough guitar riffs and gravelly vocals,” built on unfiltered storytelling about addiction, anxiety, and battles that don’t resolve cleanly. The San Antonio date is the second of three Texas stops on the run, between Longview and Lubbock. Organizers frame each evening as “a night of revival and renewal,” with Williams inviting audiences to “come as you are and experience the transforming power of music, worship and community.”
Two support acts fill out the bill. Cochren & Co. (led by Michael and Leah Cochren, signed to TobyMac’s Gotee Records) made their Grand Ole Opry debut in June 2023 and brought “Running Home” to four weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart. Singer-songwriter Christian Hohn opens the night with material built around faith, struggle, and everyday redemption.
