Yebba’s Jean Tour lands at Emo’s Austin on Sunday, June 14, and the room choice is telling. A Grammy-winning singer who’s appeared on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, who Rolling Stone reviews without hedging, who has built credits with Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, A$AP Rocky, and Mark Ronson — she books a 1,700-cap Live Nation club for this tour. Not an arena, not Stubb’s amphitheater. Emo’s. It makes sense when you hear Jean: this is intimate music, and it plays better close up.
About Yebba
From West Memphis, Arkansas, Yebba — real name Abigail Elizabeth Smith — first caught national attention backing Chance the Rapper on SNL in 2016. Years of high-profile collaboration followed before her debut album Dawn (2021), which explored grief following her mother’s death and featured A$AP Rocky and Smino. She also appears on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy as the interlude “Yebba’s Heartbreak” — a cameo that says more about her stature in R&B circles than any bio line would.
Jean, out March 6, 2026, is her sophomore record — named after her late grandmother and recorded with producer John Rooney at Electric Lady Studios and across Arkansas and Dallas. The album doesn’t stay in a single lane: piano ballads (“Forgiveness”), raging guitars (“Aggressive”), country instrumentation on the hometown reflection “West Memphis,” hyper-pop textures on “Of Course,” surf-rock arrangements elsewhere. Rolling Stone called it “an enthralling account of an artist learning to be less precious about linear healing.” The February 2026 single “Yellow Eyes” has been circulating ahead of tour dates. Astyn Turr opens.
About Emo’s Austin
Emo’s Austin relocated from Red River to East Riverside in 2011 — the Live Nation era of the name, a different animal than the original punk-and-indie venue that ran from 1992 to 2011. At 1,700 capacity, the room sits between Mohawk and Stubb’s on the Austin club ladder, booking the mid-tier headliner who has outgrown smaller rooms and is still building toward the bigger ones. For an artist whose record maps exactly that kind of transition, the fit is hard to argue with.
