Twenty years after Port of Miami landed, Rick Ross is bringing it back — not to an arena, but to a theater, with a full orchestra and choir behind him. The Port of Miami 20th Anniversary Tour plays the Majestic Theatre San Antonio on Saturday, June 27, at 8:00 PM.
About Rick Ross
Port of Miami dropped in 2006, opening with “Hustlin'” — deep bass, Carol City assurance, a voice that arrived knowing exactly what it was. What followed was a catalog that grew into Southern rap canon: “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast),” “Aston Martin Music,” “Stay Schemin’,” “The Boss.” Ross built Maybach Music Group into one of hip-hop’s most durable independent operations, collaborated with Jay-Z, Drake, Kanye West, and DJ Khaled, and kept building records without concession.
The sound was always cinematic — thick samples, layered production, ambition treated as architecture. Twenty years on, that quality becomes the premise.
The Port of Miami 20th Anniversary Tour
Rather than the standard arena setup, this 17-city tour routes through theaters. Ross is backed at every stop by the Renaissance Orchestra and the Sainted Trap Choir — a format built closer to a formal gala than a standard rap show. Black-tie attire is encouraged, and the evening includes an in-show competition for Best Dressed of the Night. Ross’s production has always carried a symphonic density; this tour puts that weight in direct conversation with a full live orchestra.
San Antonio last had Ross on a stage around 2012 — roughly fourteen years ago. The Houston show at the Hobby Center lands the night before, June 26, making this a back-to-back South Texas run before the tour moves on.
