Morat named their band after a rehearsal farm outside Bogotá where four schoolmates first worked out what acoustic folk and guitar pop could do together; fourteen years and five studio albums later, Ya Es Mañana won the Latin Grammy for Best Pop/Rock Album and sent the quartet to Coachella, sharing a bill with Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G. The YEM: Ya Es Mañana World Tour, now in its North American leg, comes to Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land on Saturday, March 13.
About the Show
Juan Pablo Isaza, Juan Pablo Villamil, Simón Vargas, and Martín Vargas — four Bogotá schoolmates who started performing together in 2011 — have been building to this for more than a decade. Their international breakthrough came in 2015 with “Mi Nuevo Vicio,” a collaboration with Paulina Rubio that gained traction across Spain and Mexico; the debut album Sobre el Amor y sus Efectos Secundarios followed in 2016. Since then the instrumentation has expanded from acoustic guitars and cajones toward electric guitars and orchestral ambition, though Billboard still caught the essential thread in a single line: “perfect summer road trip pop in Spanish, with banjo adding an Americana touch.”
Ya Es Mañana, released May 22, 2025, is the most experimental record of their five. Symphonic orchestral elements and vintage synthesizers run alongside the acoustic foundation; the themes move through nostalgia and social commentary. The album debuted at No. 10 on Spotify’s Global Countdown Charts, was named among Billboard’s Top 25 Best Latin Albums of 2025, and earned three Premios Juventud awards — Group/Duo of the Year, Best Pop/Rock Song for “Me Toca A Mí” featuring Camilo, and Best Pop Album. The Latin Grammy for Best Pop/Rock Album followed in November at the 26th annual ceremony in Las Vegas, the band’s first after three nominations. Their performance of “Faltas Tú” that night was described by the band’s own team as “a true demonstration of the power of a band.”
The YEM: Ya Es Mañana World Tour is a 13-date North American arena run that opens February 26 at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and stretches through April 3 in Fairfax, Virginia; Sugar Land, on March 13, is stop six. The run follows more than 24 sold-out arena and stadium dates across Latin America and Spain, and a Coachella debut in April 2026. No supporting acts have been announced.
