Mon Laferte put it plainly in an interview with Billboard Español ahead of the Femme Fatale Tour: “This doesn’t change anything politically, but maybe it can give people living in the U.S. a bit of hope, a sense of community.” That framing, generous and slightly defiant, fits a Chilean-Mexican singer-songwriter and five-time Latin Grammy winner now crossing the continent behind what critics called her most sophisticated and adventurous recording. The tour stops at Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land on Friday, October 16.
About the Show
The Femme Fatale Tour draws from two back-to-back releases. The original Femme Fatale (2025) is her ninth studio album — 14 tracks that critics described as “her most sophisticated, poetic, and adventurous recording to date” — blending jazz-inflected arrangements, bolero undertones, and nostalgic pop textures. It debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Top Latin Pop Albums chart, her third top-10 entry on that ranking, with collaborations from Nathy Peluso and Conociendo Rusia. In June 2026, she followed it with Femme Fatale Vol. 2 (Sony Music Latin), 20 more songs reaching into more eclectic terrain, described by coverage as ethereal and expansive, tackling emotional dependency, politics, and motherhood.
Her back catalog spans wider still: blues, cumbia, ranchera, indie rock, and Chilean folk traditions woven through her recordings since early in her career. The breakout track “Tu Falta De Querer” has surpassed 777 million streams. The tour’s press materials identify her as the best-selling Chilean artist of the digital era. Before this run she headlined Chile’s Viña del Mar festival and performed at Paris Fashion Week. The 28-date North American leg opens July 24 in Laval, Quebec and wraps November 7 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles; Sugar Land is among the Texas stops. She hasn’t played the Houston market in roughly two years, making this the area’s first look at the Femme Fatale material live. Attendees at past shows have called the experience “one of the purest and rawest concerts ever,” noting her deep connection with the crowd. No support acts are listed for this date.
