Loathe at Bayou Music Center | October 2, 2026

Loathe’s 2025 U.S. run sold out completely — 30,000-plus tickets moved on the strength of a cult record and six years of anticipation, with no new material in sight. Now the Liverpool metalcore band comes back with an actual album and books Bayou Music Center, a 2,815-seat theater. That choice tells you something. They could have pushed bigger. They didn’t.

The album is A Stranger To You, their third full-length, arriving July 17 on SharpTone Records — six weeks before the Houston date. By October 2, the audience already knows these songs. The record runs 14 tracks with an unusually varied collaborator list: Jordan Rakei (jazz, trip-hop), STATIC DRESS, Mansur Brown, rapper bucki sugar, and NOWHERE2RUN — the new project from Jami Morgan and Eric “Shade” Balderose of Code Orange. That last collaboration lands on “Revenant,” the lead single, which the band has described as among its heaviest work. The whole thing was produced and mixed by band member Erik Bickerstaffe, with additional mixing from Ed Al-Shakarchi.

Loathe’s sound doesn’t file cleanly. The metalcore scaffolding is real, but the textures shift — djent-style chugging giving way to shoegaze washes, industrial atmospherics cutting through when you don’t expect it. Frontman Kadeem France cites Earl Sweatshirt and Erykah Badu alongside the heavier reference points, which explains the band’s ability to move between guttural and genuinely haunting without it reading as a gimmick. Bassist Feisal El-Khazragi on the six-year gap: “The fact is that we were changing as people so much, and that was changing our tastes. It’s taken a while for the dust to settle.”

The support lineup is well-assembled. Fleshwater opens — noise-rock and shoegaze, featuring members of Vein.fm. Prostitute is also on the bill.
