Little Stranger plays Emo’s Austin on Friday, August 14, 2026 — the second night of a back-to-back Texas run. The Philly-born duo hits White Oak Music Hall in Houston the night before, and the Broken Hearted Boys Club Tour doesn’t treat either date as a warmup. This is a 30-plus-date national run: Bonnaroo in June, the Fillmore in San Francisco, 9:30 Club in D.C. to close it out in September. Austin gets a headlining set at a room.
About Little Stranger
Kevin and John Shields were born in Philadelphia and crash-landed in Charleston, South Carolina, where they’ve been making records since 2015. The reference points their bio reaches for are Gorillaz and Odelay-era Beck — which is honest. Their sound sits in the indie hip-hop space where melodic hooks do real structural work and the hip-hop underneath isn’t apologetic about being there. Kevin’s delivery pushes forward; John’s singer-songwriter side holds the center. Together they’ve built something that doesn’t route neatly to a single genre bin, and the live show is where that balance tends to hold best. They were running 100-plus dates a year before COVID broke the calendar.
Discography runs four albums: Buddha the Beast (2015), Techniques (2017), Styles & Dynamics (2018), and Trip Around Saturn (2021). They also run LSTV, an in-house visual program — which means the live set arrives with production thinking baked in from the start.
The Venue
Emo’s Austin is a venue on the south side of the city. It’s a club that has routed the touring indie-to-hip-hop circuit for years — the room Austin puts you in when the market is sizing you up for the next level.
