Karol G at NRG Stadium | September 27, 2026

In April 2026, Karol G walked onto the Coachella main stage and became the first Latina artist ever to headline the festival — not a breakthrough, exactly, since she had been breaking through album by album since 2017, but a confirmation of a kind that rewrites the ceiling for everyone who follows. She brings that same stadium-filling momentum to NRG Stadium in Houston on Sunday, September 27, 2026, as part of the Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour. Showtime is 7:00 PM.

About Karol G

Born Carolina Giraldo Navarro in Medellín, Colombia, on February 14, 1991, Karol G came up through the reggaeton world the way almost everyone has to — through collaborations, through grinding tour schedules, through accumulated credibility earned one room at a time before the rooms got bigger. The 2017 single “Ahora Me Llama,” recorded with Bad Bunny, opened the door. “Tusa,” with Nicki Minaj in 2019, blew it off the hinges; that track surpassed one billion views on YouTube and planted her name in conversations that had nothing to do with genre charts. Her 2023 album Mañana Será Bonito won the Grammy Award for Best Música Urbana Album, and along the way she collected six Latin Grammy Awards and five Billboard Music Awards, positioning herself alongside Shakira and Ricky Martin as one of the defining Latin crossover artists of her generation.

The Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour draws from Tropicoqueta, her fifth studio album, released June 20, 2025. Where her earlier records ran a sharper reggaeton and Latin pop line, Tropicoqueta sprawls — vallenato, merengue, bachata, cumbia, Brazilian funk, classic Latin pop — pulling from what Karol G herself described as “a little bit of everyone.” The record debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and reached No. 1 on Billboard Top Latin Albums, her fourth consecutive chart-topper. Notable tracks include the merengue-driven “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” and “Cuando Me Muera Te Olvido,” which threads cumbia rhythm against the melody of George Michael’s “Careless Whisper” — a move that is either audacious or inevitable, depending on how you hear it. Grammy.com noted the album as a transition toward a broader Latin identity, and NPR observed she had gone for a full Pan-Latin sound. The tour spans more than 60 dates across North America, Mexico, Central America, South America, and Europe, opening July 24 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Houston arrives in September, midway through the North American run.

NRG Stadium

NRG Stadium opened in 2002 as Reliant Stadium — home field of the Houston Texans and, quickly enough, one of the city’s primary stages for touring acts operating at the highest scale. It was renamed NRG Stadium in March 2014. The building has since hosted Beyoncé, U2, Taylor Swift, the Rolling Stones, Bruno Mars, Metallica, and Coldplay, among others, and has been the site of two Super Bowls: XXXVIII in 2004 and LI in 2017. Its retractable roof — the first of its kind in an NFL facility — ensures that a late-September evening show runs without weather interference. Standard capacity is 72,220.

Houston’s Latino community, one of the largest in the country, has long made this city a marquee destination for Latin music at scale. Filling NRG Stadium here is, for Karol G, less a gamble than a reckoning with an audience that has been waiting for precisely this kind of show.
