Journey at American Airlines Center | November 20, 2026

There is a particular kind of weight that settles over a farewell tour when you actually believe it. Not every band means it — the word “final” has been devalued considerably in this industry — but Journey’s The Final Frontier Tour carries something different. Jonathan Cain, who has played keyboards alongside Neal Schon for more than four decades, has said he intends to step away from the band in 2027 once the run is finished. With a hundred North American shows spread across 2026 and a San Francisco hometown finale set for November 28 at Chase Center, the Dallas stop at American Airlines Center on Friday, November 20 falls eight days from the end of this particular road.

About Journey

Journey came out of San Francisco and spent the better part of five decades building a catalog that is, by now, genuinely inescapable. The songs appear at stadiums and at karaoke bars in Beaumont alike, and somehow they still hold. They are Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, and the band arriving in Dallas this November is a seasoned road unit: Neal Schon on lead guitar, Cain on keyboards, Jason Derlatka also on keys and vocals, Deen Castronovo on drums, Todd Jensen on bass, and Arnel Pineda on lead vocals. Pineda, who joined in 2007, has been the live voice of Journey for going on twenty years.

Steve Perry confirmed before the tour launched that he would not be rejoining: “the rumors about me rejoining the band are simply not true.” That question — the one that has followed this band across three decades of reunion speculation — is finally answered. What remains is what has always remained: Schon’s guitar, those harmonies, and a room full of people who know every word.

The setlist for this run goes deeper than the front cover of the catalog. “Lights” and “Faithfully” are present — they have to be, and the crowd will give them everything both times — but the band has also been reaching into Escape, Revelation, Departure, and Infinity, giving the serious listener something beyond the obvious. Schon has described the experience plainly: “The energy has been incredible every night. Seeing these crowds sing these songs with us after all these years has been powerful.” Cain: “We’ve shared our music with millions and this tour is about gratitude, connection and one last chance to feel that magic together.” No supporting act is on the bill. Journey performs an extended headline set with brand-new production.

American Airlines Center

American Airlines Center, located at 2500 Victory Ave, Dallas, TX 75219, is the Metroplex’s flagship indoor arena — home to the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars, and a room built for exactly the kind of occasion a hundred-date farewell tour warrants.
