Scotland’s Daniel Sloss was 16 when he started writing jokes for satirist Frankie Boyle, and 19 when he became the youngest comedian to perform a solo season in the West End. BITTER, his 13th solo show, arrives at Bayou Music Center in Houston on Tuesday, October 27, and if the year’s schedule means anything, the man is doing something right: the run closes with his London Wembley Arena debut on November 28.

BITTER is Sloss’s biggest-ever worldwide tour, covering 37 cities across 11 countries, opening in Glasgow in March 2026, touching Los Angeles for the Netflix Is a Joke Fest in May, and working the North American circuit through Boston, San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago, and into the fall. Each set is built from scratch, not recycled from prior specials.
The New York Times has described his work as “dirty, sweet and clever,” which catches something true about how he operates: the darkness is structural, not decorative, and there is craft underneath every uncomfortable place he takes an audience. Sloss made his international name in 2018 when Netflix released two specials simultaneously—Jigsaw and DARK—across 190 countries; Jigsaw went particularly viral for its dissection of how people settle in relationships, credited or blamed (depending on your circumstances) with causing upward of 120,000 breakups. He has since released X on HBO, and SOCIO, HUBRIS, and CAN’T on his own platform, the last of those filmed in Istanbul and released in December 2025. Sloss has logged nine off-Broadway seasons in New York and appeared on Conan ten times. He published Everyone You Hate Is Going to Die through Knopf in 2021. BITTER arrives as the capstone of a tour that takes him from Glasgow to Wembley Arena, with Houston in between.

Bayou Music Center is at 520 Texas Ave. in downtown Houston, in the Theater District. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., show at 7:00 p.m. The event is recommended for ages 16 and up.
