Celtic Thunder’s fall 2026 North American run is their 18th tour of the continent. You don’t sustain 18 runs without an audience that plans the year around when the group is back through town.
“An Evening with Celtic Thunder 2026: Celebrate Your Favorite Songs” stops at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio on Thursday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m. For a group with 1.1 million Facebook followers and nearly two decades on North American stages, that title isn’t promotional framing â it’s a fair description of who’s in the room.
About the Show
The four-man cast consists of Emmet Cahill, Neil Byrne, Damian McGinty, and Ronan Scolard, all from Ireland and Scotland and ranging in age from 21 to 42. They move between individual solo spotlights and full ensemble numbers, with each performer described in the group’s touring materials as “a powerhouse in both their solo and ensemble songs.” The show also promises to “welcome some old friends along the way.” The program draws from an eclectic mix of traditional Celtic songs, international hits, and original Celtic Thunder compositions.
Staging has always been central to the production. Shows are built around dramatic lighting and choreography; past performances have featured an ancient stone pathway as part of the stagecraft. The 2026 tour copy frames the evening as “a heartfelt celebration of the group’s most beloved songs” and an experience of “music, memories, and camaraderie.”
Celtic Thunder began in 2007, when producer Sharon Browne developed the concept and filmed the inaugural performance at the Helix in Dublin, Ireland. Their debut CD/DVD arrived in 2008, followed by productions including “Storm” (2011), “Holiday Symphony” (2014), and the 10th-anniversary show “Celtic Thunder X” (2018). By late 2022, the group had logged more than 1,000 shows, toured the US and Canada 14 times, and toured Australia four times. Billboard has recognized them as Top World Music Artist five times (2008, 2009, 2011, 2015, and 2016), along with Top World Music Imprint and Top World Album. Their YouTube channel has accumulated over 350 million views. They’ve also hosted four Caribbean entertainment cruises, each carrying more than 4,000 fans.
The show is all-ages and family-friendly. No support acts are listed.
