Big K.R.I.T. at Emo’s Austin | June 12, 2026

Big K.R.I.T. brings The World is a Parking Lot Tour to Emo’s Austin on Friday, June 12. The tour name comes straight from Dedicated to Cadalee Biarritz, his 2026 album built around a childhood Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz he calls Cadalee. The record argues slab culture — the Southern tradition of customizing and slowly cruising candy-painted cars — is music history worth preserving. That argument gets some company: the closing posse cut features Z-Ro, Slim Thug, and Paul Wall. K.R.I.T. isn’t making the case alone.

About Big K.R.I.T.

Justin Scott grew up in Meridian, Mississippi, learning music early — cello as a kid, then years spent rhyming and producing before his 2010 breakthrough single “Country S***.” He signed to Def Jam, put out K.R.I.T. Wuz Here, and by 2012 had landed a feature on the 1 Train and debuted Live from the Underground at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. He made the 2011 XXL Freshman Class — one of the most loaded lists the magazine had run. After departing Def Jam, he founded Multi Alumni and has put out nine albums in ten years as an independent.

His lineage runs through UGK and OutKast and Three 6 Mafia — the deep South, not the Atlanta trap circuit. Dedicated to Cadalee Biarritz leans into that distinction hard. K.R.I.T. self-produced the record using slow-roll grooves drawn from Houston’s screwed-and-chopped tradition, then went straight to the source for the closing track: “Celebrate the Line” features Z-Ro, Slim Thug, and Paul Wall. Comedian Karlous Miller appears throughout as a fictional DJ character, spinning fake commercials for grillz and custom paint shops between cuts.

K.R.I.T. on the project: “I’m not here to prove I can rap anymore. I’m here to make music that lives with you.” A deluxe edition dropped May 8, 2026. A Chopped Not Slopped version with OG Ron C also exists — because the music called for it. Kirby opens the Austin date.
