“Since U Been Gone.” “Baby One More Time.” “Roar.” These are Max Martin compositions — the Grammy Award-winning Swedish songwriter-producer behind more number-one hits than any other artist in this century — and they arrive at the Majestic Theatre San Antonio this July not as concert fare but as the structural spine of & Juliet, the Olivier Award-winning jukebox musical that asks a deceptively simple question: what if Shakespeare’s most famous heroine had simply decided not to die for Romeo?
About & Juliet
The & Juliet National Tour plays the Majestic Theatre on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 7:30 PM, with the full San Antonio engagement running through Sunday, July 12. The show’s premise is optimistic by design — Juliet forsakes her famous ending, pursues a second chance at life and love on her own terms, and the jukebox opens. The book is by David West Reed, who earned an Emmy for his writing on Schitt’s Creek. Direction is by Luke Sheppard; choreography by Emmy winner Jennifer Weber.
The original West End production ran from 2019 through 2023, collecting three Olivier Awards and six WhatsOnStage Awards along the way. When the Broadway premiere arrived in November 2022, it broke box office records — a result already foreshadowed by the Toronto world premiere in July 2022, which drew standing-room-only crowds and set records of its own. Australian and UK productions followed, and the national tour now makes its way through Texas.
The San Antonio cast features Fabiola Caraballo Quijada as Juliet, Joseph Torres as Romeo, CJ Eldred as Shakespeare, and Crystal Kellogg as Anne Hathaway. Martin’s catalog stretches across decades of chart history — “Since U Been Gone,” “Baby One More Time,” and “Roar” among the selections — delivered inside a narrative that frames each song as Juliet’s reclamation of her own story. The show runs approximately two and a half hours with one intermission.
A few things to know before the curtain: the production features flashing and strobe lighting, confetti cannons, and pyrotechnics throughout. It is recommended for ages eight and up, with some adult language present. GalaPro accessibility technology is available for the full San Antonio run; the Majestic offers step-free access, wheelchair accommodations, accessible restrooms, and services for D/deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences.
The Majestic Theatre
The Majestic Theatre at 224 East Houston Street is one of San Antonio‘s anchor performance venues — 2,264 seats, and the room scale to hold a production that has played London, Toronto, and Broadway without losing an inch of its spectacle. Doors open approximately one hour before showtime.

Tickets for the July 8 performance are available now. Balcony and mezzanine seats are priced from $30 to $45; premium orchestra and VIP box seats run $150 to $230 and above. The full & Juliet engagement at the Majestic continues through Sunday, July 12.
