John T. Floore’s Country Store

About This Venue

Opened 1942 by John T. Floore as a grocery and dance spot on the road between San Antonio and Bandera. Widely regarded as the musical 'birthplace' of Willie Nelson — Willie and Floore were business partners, and Willie immortalized the venue in 'Shotgun Willie.' Bob Wills, Ray Price, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, and Elvis all played here. National Register of Historic Places (2006). ~400 indoor + ~2,000 outdoor patio under the oaks.
