Cheatham Street Warehouse

About This Venue

1910 grocery warehouse converted to a music hall in June 1974 by Kent Finlay and Jim Cunningham. George Strait and the Ace in the Hole Band played their first shows here in 1975; Stevie Ray Vaughan held a standing Tuesday-night residency in 1980. Finlay's Wednesday-night Songwriter Circle has run continuously for 50+ years — single most important launchpad for Texas songwriters (Todd Snider, James McMurtry, Randy Rogers, Pat Green, William Clark Green). Owned since December 2016 by Randy Rogers and the Cheatham Street Music Foundation. 50th anniversary 2024.
