Opened January 2021 at a cost of $158M — flagship performing arts center for the Texas High Plains and critical routing stop for the Lubbock/Amarillo/Midland-Odessa corridor. Buddy Holly's hometown finally got the cultural institution it deserved. Helen DeVitt Jones Theater (2,297) is one of the largest theaters in West Texas; Crickets Theater (415) hosts smaller acts and comedy.
