About This Venue

'Austin's Home of the Blues since 1975.' Clifford Antone opened the original on 6th Street July 1975, hosted B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Albert Collins, James Brown, and launched Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Gary Clark Jr. Current 5th Street incarnation signed 50-year lease; $1.3M from Austin Cultural Trust funding a blues museum upstairs. Co-owned by Gary Clark Jr. and Antone family partners.
