Ziggy Marley has spent close to four decades carrying something most artists never have to carry: a father’s legacy and his own in the same breath — and making it look easy. His ninth solo album, Brightside, arrived in April 2026, and October 15 at Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park brings a nine-time Grammy winner to Austin with fresh material and a co-headliner worth the price of the whole ticket.
About Ziggy Marley
Born David Nesta Marley in Kingston, Jamaica in 1968, Ziggy led the family outfit Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers for nearly two decades before launching his solo career in 2003. The Melody Makers earned multiple Grammy Awards before disbanding in 2002; Ziggy has built on that total steadily since — Grammy wins for Love Is My Religion (2006), Fly Rasta (2014), and his self-titled 2016 album among them, all for Best Reggae Album, plus an Emmy. Nine Grammys total. Brightside, released for Record Store Day in April 2026, is his ninth solo studio album.
This date is part of the Dreaming The Same Dream Tour, a co-headlining run with Gov’t Mule — the Southern rock and blues quartet led by Grammy Award-winning guitarist and vocalist Warren Haynes. The band has released more than 20 studio and live albums across three decades of touring. Their most recent studio record, Peace… Like A River (Fantasy Records, 2023), their thirteenth, blends blues, rock, and gospel. It’s an unusual pairing on paper — reggae royalty alongside hard-touring American roots rock — and both acts are known for live performances that reward a full crowd’s attention.
